SettleScape is a small, tight-knit server with high-quality, open-source configuration, quality moderation, and a mature playerbase. It is a survival PvE server, focused primarily around the construction of towns.

While the server does accept donations to stay afloat, it operates essentially as a non-profit; and all funds earned in excess of the amount needed to stay online go either to improving the server, or as redonations to the plugins that make the server what it is -- so supporting SettleScape directly supports the Minecraft server development community at-large.

The server has been around since mid-2019 and intends to stay up for the long-haul. The world is persistent -- players can rest assured that their countless hours of hard work will never be deleted. Even in the event that the server goes offline forever someday, world downloads will be provided. The server has an aggressive backup strategy with a separate, off-site server; so even if the server host goes up in flames, your builds are still safe.

Some notable plugins on the server are Towny, mcMMO, rankup, Beacon+, Jobs, and plenty more. Players who encounter bugs are encouraged to lodge issues on the server's GitHub issue tracker; and there is an in-game bug bounty of $1000.

There is a no-tolerance policy for bad actors, griefers, etc. SettleScape has a small team of experienced moderators who will not stand for violations of the server's few, but sacrosanct, rules.

While children are not disallowed on the server, there are currently no special arrangements made for them. Children under 18 should seek their parents' approval before playing on any public Minecraft server. Children under 13 are not allowed on SettleScape except with parental supervision.

Rules

Conduct:
1. Always de-escalate.
2. Avoid logical fallacies.
3. Do not violate trust.

Griefing Policy:
1. Loot, don't grief.
2. No looting in Towns, even if you have access. Always ask permission.
3. Do not ruin for the sake of ruining.

Cheating Policy:
1. You may not take advantage of any software or hardware exploits in the SettleScape server, or in Minecraft while you are playing on the SettleScape server. (Some "exploits" are grey-areas; ask an administrator to assess permissibility.)
2. Those who silently reveal novel exploits in SettleScape to just SettleScape staff will be rewarded with in-game currency.

Nickname Policy:
1. No obscenities. Violators will have their nickname removed, and repeat offenders may permanently lose the ability to set custom nicknames.
2. Your Discord nickname and your SettleScape nickname should match.

Staff Rules:
1. Staff powers should be used for staff purposes only; they should not be used to achieve an advantage in-game.
2. Moderators may issue temp bans, kicks, and jail sentences as necessary.
3. Permabans require the agreement of at least two mods/admins.
4. Players will be removed from the Discord when they quit the server.

Terms & Conditions:
1. Access to SettleScape (henceforth "THE SERVICE") is a privilege, and the SETTLESCAPE TEAM reserves the right to temporarily or permanently deprive you of THE SERVICE at any time and for any reason.
2. All information that is sent to THE SERVICE, including but not limited to in-game chat and client IP addresses, may be logged, read by the SETTLESCAPE TEAM, stored in perpetuity, and provided to any third party.
3. The above are limited only where required by applicable legislation.

How to connect and play on this server?

1. You must have the game version 1.17.1 installed.
   How to check? At startup, the game version will be displayed on the right, at the bottom. If it is a different version, you should change the current profile (left, bottom) and select version 1.17.1
2. Click the PLAY button, wait for the Minecraft game to load.
3. Choose: Multiplayer
4. Click the button "Direct connect", or if you want to keep the server in its list, press the button "Add server"
